The programming for this year's conference has already been set. The Minnesota Trans Health and Wellness Conference committee invited proposals for workshops and programming that address the joys and challenges of family diversity and the ways that family members (and families themselves) differ, such as gender identity, race, ethnicity, gender role, family make-up, sexual orientation, ability, culture, and class. We encouraged proposals to consider the term 'family' as an umbrella term for families of origin and the families we choose, create, and nurture as well as any other type of families we may be part of or envision for ourselves.
We also sought proposals that address and celebrate the wide range of diversity not only in our families but in our communities as well. We ask that all presenters bring to their work and approach their presentation with a basic understanding of racial, social, and economic justice, and remember that we are part of a multi-issue movement that includes gender liberation, as well as difference around race, class, age, sexuality, disability, immigrant status, and much more. Our goal is to provide challenging content for all ages, and all ages are welcome and encouraged to attend.
If you have a Conference related question or want to give us online feedback, please fill out our inquiry form.
