			<title>Support Group, Shot Clinic, Syringe Exchange, and More!</title>

We are now offering a Support Group, Shot Clinic, and other services at our office, 3405 Chicago Ave S, Suite 103, Minneapolis, MN 55407, phone: 612-823-1152.  On the 5 bus line.


 


NEW: Transgender Support Group - 2nd and 4th Wednesdays of the month from 4:30-6:00


Our
group welcomes everyone wanting to find support within the Transgender and gender variant
community.  We will discuss topics that concern our well being
including HIV and Hepatitis C prevention, safer sex, how to safely
inject hormones, passing, safe restrooms, the steps to transition and
other concerns that group members may have.  We hope to create a safe
space to talk about the stress, anxiety and other issues that come up
as being a member of this community.  We also hope to have a lot of
fun, play some games, watch some movies and simply enjoy each others'
company.

Shot Clinic Hours: 


Thursdays 9am-1 p.m.


Fridays 4-6 p.m.


Do you inject hormones as part of a doctor recommended regimen? Do you need injection assistance and/or free supplies? Then you should come on down to the Shot Clinic! 



 



The Transgender Health Project Shot Clinic is a group of concerned trans folks helping out other trans folks with their hormone shots.
We can help you by administering your shots,
teaching you to do the shots yourself and giving you free needles
and supplies. We offer a needle exchange, informational/ support group
time and case management. We can hook you up with doctors and help you
with different aspects of your transition.


 



Syringe Exchange every Tuesday, 9 
a.m. to Noon


The syringe exchange is open to anyone who is an Injection Drug User 
(IDU) regardless of gender or drug of choice.  You do NOT have to be 
trans identified to use the exchange on Tuesdays.


 


Hepatitis C   HIV testing, Case 
Management Referral (during any office hours)


We offer confidential HIV and Hep C testing and counseling / education. You 
may also visit our office if you need a referral to a Case Manager to 
get help with housing, health insurance, employment, and/or medical 
care. 


 


Enter either in the back or front of the building. From the front, come 
through coffee shop and door leading to the restroom and the office will be 
in hallway on your left. From back, enter through back door and office 
will be in the hallway on your right. There is a small parking lot with 
accessible spots in back and street parking in front.

Roxanne Anderson 



    Program Director 


Roxanne's work addresses issues of marginalized people. In addition to serving as Program Director for the Minnesota Transgender Health Coalition, she serves as Board Chair for the Hughes Foundation and in advisory roles with RECLAIM for Youth and the GLBT Host Home Program. She is Co-Founder/Co-Director of RARE Productions.


 




 



Cinto Birkhofer


    HIV / Hep C Educator 


Cinto has been working in the field of harm reduction for
three years, previously at Access Works! Harm Reduction Services and
now with the Minnesota Transgender Health Coalition.  He is passionate about syringe exchange and gving people safer injection information to keep them as healthy and happy as
possible.  Cinto is a sometimes student at MCTC and always a student of
life, a Libra and bicycle rider.  He hopes you will come into the shot clinic and to our new Trans Support Group to hang out, ask questions

Tracey Clark


    Syringe Exchange Coordinator




Tracey  is a college student, a mom and a community activist. She is 
passionate about harm reduction, working with the GLBT community, and 
women's studies. She is very excited to be working with the Minnesota 
Transgender Health Coalition. Tracey has experience working with 
injection drug users and with GLBT youth, and has done domestic violence
advocacy and is a certified nursing assistant. Tracey runs the Syringe Exchange every Tuesday from 9 a.m. to
Noon.

			<title>2010 MN Trans Health &amp; Wellness Conference Huge Success</title>

Thank you for helping to make this Conference our best yet! The 
2010 Minnesota Trans Health and Wellness Conference (our 4th annual event) was held on Friday, 
May 14 and Saturday, May 15, and drew approximately 300 people over two 
days from all over theTwin Cities area, as well as greater Minnesota and the
Midwest region, as well as from other parts of the U.S.  It was a wonderful success! 



 


Thanks again to our host Metropolitan State University, to all of our sponsors 
and donors, our incredibly hard working volunteers, keynote speakers, 
presenters, Cabaret performers, and many others for your 
contributions to this life-changing Conference.
